Lofoten
Lofoten is located in the northern extremities above the Arctic Circle in northern Norway it's quite a remote place and only recently have bridges and tunnels been put in to allow access to the many islands that form the archipelago.
I've been to Lofoten five times now and I nearly always go in January which is quite severe weather wise but it makes for a very very attractive photographic opportunity. The conditions can vary from driving rain, blizzard bright blue skies strong winds very cold temperatures which make for a difficult photographically but the results can be worth it as can be seen I hope from the images on this page.
This image is of the famous place Reine in the photo which is quite well down the peninsula or group of islands it's heavily photographed and this drone shot typifies the sheer beauty of the area again the shot was taken in January.

In this image I used a long exposure to smooth out the waves to create this dream-like surface of the sea it was quite windy so this was quite a difficult image to capture such that the rocks and the far mountains were actually correctly focused and correctly not blurred due to motion I'm pleased with this image it's actually received a lot of likes on Facebook and also on my Instagram account and I think it sums up the nature of the ruggedness of the coast of Lofoten.

This image is of waves breaking over rocks on the coast at sunset in Lofoten. The exposure time was probably about a 1/4 of a second giving that nice treating a fact is the water moves in the frame creating a sense of motion in the picture.

This image is of the famous place Hamnoy this image was taken as the last feeling sunrise of the day was striking the side of the mountain and also the little picturesque cottages on stilts by the side of the fjord. This particular place is quite busy as a fishing port and just behind the house as you can see in the images of the little Cove with small fishing boats in.
